Rio
Rico , Arizona
Rio Rico has
a population of nearly 20,000. It is located 12 miles north of the
US-Mexico border, between Nogales
and Tubac. Like other towns in the
Santa Cruz River Valley, an abundance of migrating birds
can be seen in Rio Rico.
Rio
Rico is home of the Esplendor
Resort, a great place to stay, eat and play golf or tennis.
You can also stay at Lazy
Lizard Rock Bed & Breakfast
It is situated among rolling mountains, overlooking
the lush green Santa Cruz River Valley and amid centuries of history.
Enjoy the view of the beautiful San Cayento Mountains.
They have a Robert
Trent Jones Sr. championship course. The Arizona Republic rates
it as one of the Top 25 Public Courses in the state of Arizona.
There
are two parks to stop and enjoy, Robert Damon Park
and Calabasas Park.
Rio Rico is at an elevation of 3500 feet
above sea level. The Villages of Rio Rico (Bella Vista, Casitas
de Anza, Estancias Rio Vista, Fairway Estates at Tubac, Ranchos
Del Rio, and San Cayetano Vistas) have been built with trails
that link them all together. It is planned that this trail system
will eventually be connected to the Historic
Anza Trail. Like all of the Santa Cruz Valley, Rio Rico will
continue to grow at a rapid pace.
