Green
Valley , Arizona
Green Valley is a residential retirement
community located 23 miles from Tucson. Much of it looks down onto
the Santa Cruz River, and it has the Santa Rita Mountains as a backdrop.
That view makes golfing at some of Green Valley's Golf Courses,
second to none. These
courses include
Torres Blancas Golf Club, Canoa
Ranch Golf Club, Canoa
Hills Golf Club, Desert
Hills, Country
Club of Green Valley, Haven
Golf Course, Quail Creek Country Club, and San
Ignacio Golf Club.
If you are visiting, consider staying at The
Inn at San Ignacio. Enjoy the shopping in Green Valley's Continental
Mall, Green
Valley Mall, or the nearby town of Tubac,
Just
over 10 miles southeast of Green Valley, on the northwestern face
of the Santa Rita Mountains, is Madera
Canyon. As part of the Coronado National Forest
it has miles of hiking trails, biking
trails, campsites, and picnic areas. If you plan on parking and
using the Canyon, be sure to bring five dollars cash, as that is
the daily fee. If you plan on going to the canyon on a regular basis,
annual fees are available for only twenty dollars. Madera
Canyon is well known for birdwatching,
as many different species of birds use the canyon as a resting place.
